RIDGEMONT X IRON AND RESIN
Ridgemont teamed up with Southern California lifestlye apparel brand, Iron and Resin, to collaborate on a special edition version of a best-selling shoe.
KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN
We decided to launch the project as a Kickstarter campaign in order to tap in to the extremely engaged and enthusiastic Kickstarter backer community.
The special edition Outback shoe we created featured enhancements for motorcycle riding, among other upgrades. With that in mind, I envisioned telling the story of the collaboration as two friends meeting up on their motorcycles, and riding to the mountains to go camping.
VIDEO DIRECTION
I worked with a videographer to bring the concept to life in a short film which we used in the campaign, as well as with other marketing partners to tease the campaign and generate excitement ahead of launch. I also commissioned a musician to write the music, as well as join us in the video for fun reveal at the campsite. Click the image below to see the video.
SUPPORTING GRAPHICS
In addition to the story and product focused imagery, it’s necessary convey crucial information to the potential campaign backers. I created a series of infographics for this purpose, making sure that the look and voice were on brand.
THE PRODUCTS
We were extremely happy with the final footwear production. Working with Horween Leather in Chicago made the shoes feel truly special. We also made a t-shirt and keychain to celebrate the collaboration.
